PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
A career in Costume Design with over 25 years experience working in Film, Television, Theatre, Opera, Dance & Commercials. A love of Theatre, Dance & Film, clothing, fabrics & their history combined to direct me to my chosen career.
After graduating from The West of England College of Art I worked for the London Contemporary Dance Theatre as Costumier & Designer, also in London formed my own fashion label Peachy Keen. Experience in film at this time included providing costume styling for Commercials shot by high profile Vogue fashion photographer David Bailey. Theatre experience included working backstage in West End Theatre productions,
Since living in Australia Career highlights have included: working as Costume Designer on the TV Mini Series ANZACS, working as assistant Costume Designer for Opera Australia on the controversial production of NABUCCO with Barry Kosky. Venturing to the gemfields of Central Queensland to work as Costume Designer on the Feature film Buddies starring Colin Friels. Designing the costumes for the 1st TV Series of Ocean Girl & my involvement from the Pilot episode through to the fourth series on the high profile TV series Secret Life of Us, with an exciting ensemble cast & supportive crew.
Through my career I have worked on many & varied productions & this experience has enabled me to study many aspects of the design of costume for performance & within many varying budget requirements.
This experience has enabled acquisition of excellent teamwork and people skills, experience co-ordinating departments, supervising staff, managing budgets and meeting deadlines.
